Radar device SRD-77
The speed camera is celebrating its 61st birthday, but it's still a long way from retiring. The first Germany-wide radar control was carried out in Düsseldorf in 1959. It is difficult to understand today when the lightning bolt was first used in the Zschopau area.
The SDR-77 shown was built in Poland in 1987, but without photo technology. The traffic offenders had to be stopped directly on site in order to be able to take action. Around 43,000 vehicles were recorded with this device, of which 445 were driving too fast. It was not until 1992 that the police received measuring devices with photo-taking technology.
The Zschopau police station donated the SRD-77 to the castle in 2015
